hey danny, i was able to get my pc silencer to fit easily by heating and straightening out the bend in the stinger section a little. with a bit of a tweak it bolted up perfectly to the rear mount. the front mount needed repositioning though, definatley easier and cleaner than cutting up the silencer ...

i didnt heat treat it, would be nice to,but i dont know anyone in the heat treating game, let alone trust enough not to send me back a warped piece of shit :(

the x subframe is different for sure. the left hand rail has a different profile to suit the x air box. id put money on the r subframe bolting up to your x frame, but you would have to use the r model airbox, plastics and possibly seat.

guys can someone help chase up 4 lenghts at 3 feet long of 6061 t6
we have most of the bike done but no one brings the tube into australia
the bike is a brand new crf450x 09 model so there is a bit of money riding on this.

Shaggy i feel your pain, this material is way too hard to get hold of in ...

......revalving for the bike? Fill me in a little. I have the 450 suspension set up for me, it's perfect. WHy would the conversion to a 500 require more revalving?

because the 500af is a lighter bike... im running the compression clickers on mine all the way out and its still too stiff ...

the triple clamps , forks and shock will all fit on you gen3, although you would probably need to revalve them for the 5 hundie.
im running stock 450 suspension on my gen3 and its quite harsh .

yeah just never tried to melt plastics into each other so a bit unsure of how to do it and how well it works.That way never failed for you Danny ? Got any pics ?

I have been wondering that my self. i bought a brandnew 2007 cr125 frame form ebay awhile ago, and all the welds on the inside of the frame spars and generally anywhere you cannot see on the completed bike still had all the black ...

thanks for the feed back guys, im pretty happy with how it turned out. you really have to look hard to see its been modifyed at all.
it was actually less work than the first frame i did with a fabricated y section. ill post up some pics of it all bolted up. cheers.

Thanks for the comments guys . yes the stock radiators clash with the y in that position, but im using a set from my first build that have had the lower tanks modifyed for clearance.

plenty of pipe clearance. just gotta weld the lower rad mounts on and the pipe mount to the right hand cradle tube and shes done.
