I'm running a DGK, 38 pilot, 175main & #6 slide.

will a gen5 450 kicker get past the peg better?

It looks like it should. have people been using them on the 500s?

The ktm fits and clears, but needs more leverage or more pressure bled off.

Went climbing this weekend. It was the first time riding this particular bike since June.

I was having detonation issues last time out and cut the head to try eliminate the issue (on pump) It may have helped a bit, but by the 3rd hill I was pinging again. I switched to 50/50 94/100LL and it ...

Always good to see all the different approaches to advance the old beast.
You maw want to angle the cable a bit, should put less stress on the decomp button.
I like that you have made a simple adaptor for a no weld decomp system, are you using a copper washer or oring for the seal?

The adapter is ...

simple decompression cable setup

I used a stock KTM rfs decompression cable and lever (any hot start or decamp should work)

It's not good looking but it's functional. I need to machine the whole setup out of Al, but this was quick to make.

No weld decomp

I drilled and tapped the head (8x1.25) for a decomp there was plenty of room for that thread size (at least on my head.) The valve was 10x1.0 and I thought could get away re-threading for use w/o a adapter. Needless to say I was in a hurry and didn't think it through. I'll be turning an adapter as ...

I've been thinking about this for awhile, it seems like a better solution for tightening up the squish clearance.

I assume the converted head uses the same o-rings as the pro design head?

Re: Compression release condoms

Compression release doesn't work as a check valve, if while you are riding you get some dirt or sand around the unit it could suck stuff in. an easy fix would to put on a water ballon (without the water), just like a normal condom, could save you some expence down the road
Cheap enough to ...
