its sealed... so you can mount it anyway, and it wont leak anything into your airbox.
its a lead acid battery, so it can be charged by a stator once you get one.
and its 12v, so it can run everything.

plus.. its cheap.... and thats important because if you discharge it more ...

e-line is an external stator.
it bolts some magnets to the outside of the flywheel, then uses a big billet cover to house a nice huge streetbike like stator around it.

heres what im doing right now.
i have a nice battery in the airbox.... the crappy "25/35 watt" coil, an AC regulator, and a cheap diode bridge rectifier..... it powers only a headlight, a vapor gauge, and a LED tail light.

at idle with the battery disconnected (its switched) --

btw, after tons of research, i think the best thing you can do is to put a CR250 igntion setup, and then run an aftermarket stator for a CR250.
this puts real wattage behind the stock cover.
plus you get the CR250s better timing curve.
however, you also get the 250s lighter flywheel.. good if you ...

ading displacement is not what a cr500 motor needs, it doesn't even come close to taking full advantage of its existing displacement. compare it to a cr250, or yz or rm, it isn't that much faster for having twice the displacement. if honda tuned a 500 the same way they tune a 250 it would be an ...

I rode my supermoto 500 all year last year and put about 2000 miles on it. No b/s.

my daily drivers are broken, so i put over 500miles on the CR500 this week.. no BS.. lol

i cant say it was fun the whole time though... interstate in traffic with a CR500 and a dim headlight... not the best times ...
