yeah... my "found on road deads" or "fuckers only run downhill" give me next to no issues. My f-150 only has the window regulators go out and that was a known issue they fixed the following model year. My wifes 11YO expy runs great, when I bought it, I fixed an oil leak, did the brakes, all the fluids and filters, since then I've only changed the oil, changed the ait filter and the worst thing... topped off the charge in the a/c.

my old c2500, I had to replace a ball joint, the radiator, the catalytic converter, it blew out the intak manifold gaskets on the freeway, the a/c compressor leaked like the valdez, the trans shifted like crap and that 5.7 vortec with good com[pression was surprisingly low on power, it struggled to maintain 65-70 up spring mountain w/ 1 bike and some firewood in the back.
my mother in laws jimmy=POS I've replaced I don't even know ho many sensors, did the fuel pump, did the ignition cylinder and other parts for the factory alarm fuck up, replaced a mangled belt tensioner, needs ball joints and control arm bushings, rides like over and inch lower on the driver side. today I'm taking it to get the cat replaced, knock sensor and fuel tank pressure sensor errors keep tripping on the computer. and I'm sure there are other things I'm forgetting. BTW it s 2000 w/ 92,000 miles and it leaks too! my wifes expy is a 98 w/ 135,000 and my c2500 was a '98

I will never buy another POS GM product. MFDB has had to take his '06 duramax to the stealership so many damn times and they refuse to fix and injector issue that gives him 6 MPG.
Evereyone can talk all the shit they want on fords, but my own experience has been atleast with trucks, the fords hold together way better.

yeah, but I think that had more to do with the union. My buddy Dan's dad gets a fatty check every month because he worked the assembly line building 4.3s for 20 years.
thats why GM is going under.
The irony is my buddy Dan will never buy another GM because every one he has had has been a POS. he bought an s10 brand new and had a shit load of problems. He even told me he had a front brake line burst!
The thing that sucks is GM stuff has become the standard... every motor conversion out there is with a SBC of some sort. all aftermarket engine management systems use GM sensors for the good availability, except that the gm sensors suck ass, I'm surprised they don't say lucas on the side.

Brakes are maintainance items IMO, and the rear end issues were because of the aftermarket traction bars

Its not the dexcool, its the sand left in the castings that circulates and eats the seals over time.

Chevy needs to be better at getting that shit out.

Dodge had the same problem through the 90's with the 5.2 and the 5.9 gas motors. There was so much sand left in the blocks from casting that the radiator would plug up and cause over heating issues.
