Hi there,
Have a bit of a project on the go. Turning a CR480 track bike into a road registered cafe racer.
I need to decide if I should use a stator and battery or just a rechargeable battery.
Does anyone know if the stator that fits the newer 500's will fit into the CR480 bottom end?
Thanks,
TT

Not sure if it physically bolts up, not sure about it working the opposite direction either

The rotor should bolt up, not sure about the stator plate bolting to the case.
Also not sure if the keyway is in the same place.
Maybe nmdesertrider can enlighten us more since the cranks are not the "same"

Don't have an answer for you but a request instead.
I'm restoring a 480 and the fender mount in the back is missing. Could you snap a pic and post it for me?
It's the part that crosses the frame and curves under the seat. Thanks, Tony

Thanks, I can't figure out how it got gone. The area surrounding it doesn't look repaired or bent at all.
I guess I can cut one off an old frame or have something fabbed.

So it looks like a rechargeable battery is the way to go? Any other tips before I drop coin on parts?
