You guys want to talk to steve tassinary. Not anything female. I've known steve for over 15 years. His shop is local to me. Mick has a VF3, I don't know if he ever finsihed his investigation........ last I knew he was bleeding green
Oh ya, I just have to put the cyl back on the zilla and then check the port timing so CPI can build me a pipe. The cr5 is ready right now but I pobly will try to have it ported by then too.

yeah so I've been having some fun on an '09 KX450F so what? Did I tell ya it shit the bed now at just under two years of racing? Glad it wasn't mine...
I posted my initial impressions on the other site, same problems as noted above. Insert was smaller than the rubber manifold. Model even stamped 120A just as Clyde's. Really nothing to get excited about...took a whole of about 90 seconds to match it to the manifold. My ONLY complaint is that I frown upon products mass produced for generic applications. It doesn't look like the VF3 was built for the CR500 at all save for the bolt pattern.
cant remember who but a while back someone said mototassinari said they were making a new insert. i wonder if mine is the new version since its now bigger than the manifold hole. personally i would rather grind the rubber rather than the insert. it should fit with no mods but it dont
nope, just curious. I know of all the common issues and have infact had most of the common issues. the one I worry about is the poor piston design leading to a crack in the piston. no one I've read about has had any damage from it, just lost compression and the bike quit running, slapped a new piston in and good to go. I'm just wondering.

I felt the bike was running like every other 450 I've ridden. Which is to say it felt like a sick dog. That ride planted a seed in his mind I guess, cuz three weeks later he was sure it was down on power. Around Halloween it was at the stealership getting a $320 tuneup By Thanksgiving it was dead...totally not impressed with the 450 Kawi anymore, it was great while it lasted
