Do you guys think that the inner hub can be helicoiled?
Also the reason I ended up breaking off the bolt was because after I had the clutch installed I was checking to see if the clutch rod pushed out on the clutch when I lifted the actuator and I had alot of play between the rod and the pressure plate cover. So I thought to myself "self I must not have the clutches squeezed together enough so I will just tighten the bolts a bit more"

How much play should there be between the end of the rod and the pressure plate?

That has to be the worst grooving Ive ever seen on a clutch basket!!!!! I know I was the one who said "just file them out" but SHIT thats an unreal amount of wear!!!!!!

IMO I would try to find a new-used basket and hub from somewhere, if you file out those grooves theres gonna be nothing left

As for the play thing make sure you din't loose the little BB that goes on the end of the rod

BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION YEAH IT WOULD WORK BUT YOU WILL NEED TO BUST OUT THE GRINDER ON THAT GROVE

never seen a basket with them cool grooves. did you have to special order that? theres a torque spec on pressure plate bolts. without checking the manual i think its 6ft lbs

I have already ordered a new clutch basket, inner hub, lock washer and new bolts. I was just wondering about using the old ones as a backup.

I looked all over my manual and found no torque specs for those bolts but as a general rule 6 is probably about right. I knew that they were tight I was just surprised how much play there was between the end of the rod and the clutch itself. So I thought maybe I could squeeze the springs a bit more.

Yeah that a basket case alright,

I think the torque is 6-8 ft lbs. Better check it though. Thats something else I never torque, Just tighten them to a point.

Thats typical of an old machine like that, the way those grooves are in that basket. The one I pulled outta our KDX was just as toasty fried. I made one outta some 70 series aluminum and had it hard anodized. The one I ordered from Kawasaki finally came 2 months after I ordered it, like the end of May.

But I was talking about rushing after I broke the bolt off in the inner hub and screwing the inner hub up not the grooves. I knew the basket was toast but I figured that I would install it and get a replacement on order so that way I could atleast ride it!!
