Post by honda02 »

Ok I should get my bike running this comming week and be able to ride next weekend with any luck .

But at the end of the month out here they are going to have a Poker Run thats 55 miles I just like to know what kind out MPG should I get out of this bike .

I think I have a 2.2 gallon tank will this be able to make the trip on 1 tank of gas .

I would bring a bit more. In the desert race up here I couldn't make the loop (50 Miles) on one tank. I used to use the acerbis number plate tanks and be in good shape.

Think about pre-staging some gas at or near the halfway point if you can. Otherwise you will need to call AAA.

What year 450X? My new 08 is a 1.9 gallon. But the 05-06 or 7 were a little bigger. IMS or clarke or acerbis all make bigger tanks for it. Use this link: http://www.justgastanks.com/store/index ... th=1_9_108

O/S Tanks

Post by honda02 »

My bike is a 05 X I heard that lot of the after market tanks hang down lowwer in to the frame and hit the motor so melting the tank and pushing up into it self will not help holding more gas.

I wish some knows which tank to get I like the Clark tank with the stock shrouds.

But will it work.

It's wide open road that it easy to say to putt and go slow But what I found after a short time of riding out there you start going fast with out thinking about it searching for anouther gear.

I wait to be sure I going to have more than enought gas to make it.

Just duct tape 2-liter pop bottles to the back of your boots and you're good to go.

All the alloy bikes can carry a fair amount in the spars with a little tapping and plumbing work. Its the cheapest tank there is.
