In the shop we see alot of failures due to the red coolant beeing corrosive, alot fo castings fail from beeing "eaten".

you ever have a suburban or anything with rear heat thats quit working, its because that coolant turns to crystals. alot of times we'll get an engine in thats beeing trouble for getting hot, most of the time its a coolant buildup problem. Its also more likely to leak, anyone with a car that has long service intervals or never gets washed under the hood can see a ring of crystaly looking crap grow arround gaskets.

GM has a great solution for cleaning out the plugged heaters too, the offical solution is removing 2l of coolant from the system ,and replacing it with COCA-COLA! it will eat the crystals.

GREEN GREEN GREEN for me, everything i own has been changed to it aswell.

I knew a guy with a car like that. He had a special wooden stick in the trunk for checking the gas.
