Linkage Bearing Maintenance
So, how often do you guys service your linkage bearings? I just ripped apart mine after rebuilding them a year and a half ago, and they were in need of it. still lubed and moved freely, but were starting to get dirty.
What are your schedules?

Back in my day, they didn't have linkages, swingarm bushings yes.
If I only had 1 or 2 bikes to ride all the time I suppose they would get regular maintenance.
As it is now, no single bike of mine gets used that much.
I don't even know what the manuals call for, I guess that should be the guideline.

not if you have grease nipples.AlisoBob wrote:Pressure washer = more maintenance
i usually pump a few squirts of fresh grease in during tyre changes or every 6 months. the only trouble with this method is excess grease messing up the areas once it squeezes out all the old stuff. a can of degreaser and a pressure clean usually get it all. you can see where i have missed.
now its just the spherical bearings in the shock that i have to grease.
