this is an 88 250 ignition on these engines.hoofarted wrote:Good to hear the final result. Guess thats why its a dunes pipe.
I'm +1 on the Fatty as well. That coupled with 250 ignition = good times!
I have to wonder, my porting moved the tq+hp 1000rpm lower than the other engine, if i'd have run the cpi on it would i have had to turn it 7000 to see the power? when the friday engine goes in bros af with the 39pwk i'll run it with a cpi to check it out

hmmm, good thing I kept my fatty, narley, stock and pc pipes!
hey you wanna sell me the CPI?
I am propbably going the other way , top end HP.
I found in the slick and grease I did better with a weaker bottom, for traction ability, and a monster top end when I could use it.
Moving the power upward really knocked the mid hit down some too, for more control.
Basicly tractor around as necessary and let er breathe when I could.

I'll say with certainty that this engine with the fatty would be faster everywhere than this engine with the cpi because of the torque. the dyno pull was 5 seconda longer on the cpi! i had to sit my ass on the back fender cuz i was spinning the tire from low rpm with the fatty on, not an issue with the cpi.dubious01 wrote:hmmm, good thing I kept my fatty, narley, stock and pc pipes!

if i had to draw a map of what the engines power delivery feels like it'd be close to this....
green is the friday engine, red is sunday and blue is sunday with the cpi

pipes
I have a stocker that was pulled off from new, and two of the old gold series fatties. I'd send em over for dyno testing.
One of the old pipes says fatty on it and the other just says gold series. They both look the same though. Aside from the stock pipe, the fatty feels the best all across the board. Good strong pull right from the bottom to the top. I only use them in the sand so I don't mash them up with all the rocks here.
No dyno testing here, but a lot of dune riding in Oregon. 30 gallons worth in 5 days last weekend.

If if doesn't kill you, it hurts like hell.
