tranny question

just finished putting my bottom end together,figured id throw the shifter on and see if i had gears before i threw the topend on,should i be able to shift through my gears right now?if so i got a problem :? seems to be stuck in one gear

ya ive got a pdf manual and it doesn't show a oring with the crank collar,i was thinking it might have went there since there is one with the countershaft collar,I just found that one goes with the water outlet on the cylinder

I know one of em is for the countershaft collar,theres 2 more there,wtf are they for,I was trying to remember if there was one behind the crank collar but its been a while since I tore it apart and if memory serves me right there was not one there,the parts fiche doesn't show one as well

I bought a 87 engine from Defaultpeanut on the other site last month for $300.00 CAD,it is 1mm ovr & minus a clutch cover and needs a complete rebuild,just waiting for it to arrive,I figure I'll be able to have a good back up engine for 1000.00 bucks or less once I'm done with it,like these guys...
