This is why I would never be a bike builder like TTM.

Mike has as much blood and sweat in that bike as you... ( maybe more).... and now your dumping it.

Fuck that...

I dont get it .

Dirt bike? $10k? ........ $10k? Dirtbike? I dont know but maybe its me. If I could get $10K for ANY dirtbike, its a no brainer.I'll take the $10k and run every time. I'm sure Mike didnt build the bike for him for free and out ouf the goodness of his own heart so who cares if its for sale?
Nice bike...I'll have its brother soon.

Sometimes, money dosent make up for the journey...

A doctor who does lung transplants gets paid..... and if his patients still smoke afterwards, you dont think he considers putting down his scalpel?

Same difference.

Putting down his scalpel? Not a chance. A surgeon that my Wife and I know will go out and buy new matching Ferrari's for himself and his wife after a few major operations and joke about it. Dont give Doctors all the touchy feely credit you think they have after watching an episode of ER.They dont give a crap what you do to yourself.Bob,do you think Mike or AJ give two craps either what people do with their bikes after they are gone and out the door?
C'mon now....
Same difference,No way.

To sell?

Post by kball1313 »

I had a hard on for the SXV when it came out too. Thought I was gonna get one for sure. I don't know how the $reliability$ is now compared to the early ones but- you'll be switching from:
the most reliable mill, (650r) is tied for reliability and low maint.

to the supermoto with the most moving parts of any supermoto. They do sound sweet though, but i'd hate to see the bill to do even a fresh up.

You thought about a 650r at all? I had one and theyre a sweet ride too. Or you could even get a 4th gen cr250, keep making smoke with a bit less bite and all the stuff swaps right over. Those bikes are all over the place for cheap. That gives you all the dirt parts to sell the af as a dirtbike.

Those were just some of my first thoughts.

as kball said i could part it out and i will make more money, but under no circumstance will the bike be parted out. and as far as me selling it i knew i would get shit for it. but im the one who waited almost a year to complete the build and my hard earned money. i hate to see it go but it needs a track and is far from a street machine. maybe once in a while to raise hell but i ride everyday. and after the long wait, all the cash i have in it i expected a different machine. so if im not happy with it with my riding style why not sell it and let someone else enjoy it? what is so wrong with that? the bike is truly a work of art and i love it but it doesnt suit my riding style. surely everyone here can appreciate where im coming from. and even though i just got a new job i cant afford nor do i want 2 supermotos sitting in the garage, so i hope and will make sure it will go to a good hope.

Shit, if you're not happy, you're not happy. I can relate since I've thought about selling my bike several times.

Bottom line, best of luck with the sell and, hopefully, the next bike will scratch your itch.

:rotfl: But it's got super sexy welds and a heat treated frame! That's what you wanted right :lmao:

...guess non of that matters afterall

But I for one Frank love your bike. It does sting a little bit knowing it's already for sale. I totally understand you wanting to sell it if you're not happy with it. All I can say is for what you've put into that bike, if it were me I'd make damn sure I found a way to tune it so I did like it. But I just really love CR500s...I don't think I could find one I couldn't get to run to my liking.

Hope you like the twin

Did you love it when it was a 450? I suspect you did, so my sugestion is that you get a xr650r and supermoto it. Then youll be hella fast and still be trick.

It's a sweet bike and it's his bike. It's up to him what happens to it. Mike offers a service and : bling : paid for it. He can piss on it and launch it into the ocean and nobody can say shit about it. People gotta quit busting balls and buck up for it if it means so much to you. Money can fix most things.
