450rider's un-450 projects

Post by Roostius_Maximus »

Chad is his name, He's been in southern Manitoba for a few months working with the pipeline. He's got some interesting projects happening that he wanted me to post.

1st is his gen1 250 that needed modifications to have better handling. The rear engine bushings were removed and I made 5mm eccentric ones to drop the engine in the chassis. I also welded the other mounts closed and relocated the bolt holes to drop the engine evenly.

He was also instructed to make the swingarm 1" longer in adjustment.

Next we tackled his gen1 500 conversion and installed his track kit he purchased direct from 2moto.

He has alot of stuff on the go and gets very little time to be on the site.
The bike with the track kit has a 40mm carb and 250 ignition.
He's in the pursuit of horsepower for the tracked machine and has some cylinders in the works for aluminum sleeve and plating.

its very hard on fuel, he rode out west 2 weeks ago and had it to the pin for 15minutes at a time to cruise with sleds.

If anyone can fix that video link at the bottom of the post, that'd be cool.

How much of a difference are you going to see by changing the the rear postion of the motor and isnt it go to change the front sproket and chain contact.the chain is not going to contact the teeth of the sproket like it should/throw the angle off just wondering.

Neat job on the rear mount and swing arm Adam!!! Skillz

There are a bunch of the 2motos out here running around on 450s. Jetting can be a pain if you ride different areas alot.
They did SH AF and said it was a hoot.

Just give me a sled for the snow and a bike for the dirt.

Or, a Snow Hawk

We looked at that chain issure, and its not a problem, id dropps down without moving back or forward. Its supposed to chase out a headshake issue at warp speed. Dewayne Jones is the informant to 450rider on how to setup the bike, he's also done all of the valve work and rebuilding of the ohlins suspension for it.
