No use starting a new post but, will the old style piston work in the new style engine? New part number 13101-MAC-680, old part number, 13101-KA5-691.

The reason why I am asking is I can get the old style OEM pistons for a lot less money.

How much room do you have between your rad and Y section? That's pretty well the way I am going to do my conversion. I think I am going to cut the frame a little further forward, because it has to go up as well as forward. I am also going to make my motor mounts 1" thick. I know it's overkill b...

I changed my plan, I bought a 250 frame on eBay yesterday for $110.00. I wasn't concerned about making a new cradle, I just didn't want my front tire to hit the pipe. I already bought an FMF gnarly but a Pro Circuit is a better choice for a 125 frame. I never heard back from the seller of my motor y...

I haven't heard from the seller since Friday after leaving him a couple of phone messages and emails. Maybe another family member died.

I am going to have him charged with mail fraud if he doesn't get back to me today.

Hopefully that motor looks better on the inside than the bike looks on the outside. He said he bought the CR500 from a Honda mechanic.

I have a feeling he is lazy, he was really slow returning emails. He may be very busy person also, who knows.

I paid him by Bank Draft, he didn't want to use Pay Pal. I'm going to wait until Monday to send off the mail fraud form.

Does anyone here live in League City TX? That's where he's from.

My project is on hold until I get my motor. The guy who I am buying it from was supposed to ship it last Wednesday but then he got busy and had no time. He emailed me back after I left a phone message saying he will ship it on the following Monday. I emailed him on Monday and left phone messages tod...

It's supposed to be a 98. The cases are bare aluminum so it's somewhere around that year.

I guess we should have a build competition? I am remodeling my shop right now so think you will win.

I bought some 1" aluminum tubing and some 3/16 sheet yesterday. Today my new Gnarly and Turbine Core silencer came in. I also bought new plastic. I cant believe how cheap the plastic is. I don't know what I am going to do with my rims yet, but I have all winter to worry about that. Hopefully I ...

What kind of throttle does that bike have? I remember when I was looking at it he said it had a bearing in it.

I wish I bought a 250, it would of been more $ than my 125 but it's a cheaper and easier conversion.

Gen 3 CR125 Build

I just picked up a 2004 CR125 rolling chassis for $950.00, and a 98 CR500 motor for the same price. I can't really do anything yet until my motor is shipped to me. Hopefully I will get it next week. I really wanted to start with a Gen 3 CR250 but this bike came up and it was priced right. I am a lit...

^^i honestly would have no idea the suspension differences... I'm SERIOUSLY looking at a PRIME and MINT 03 CR250, it's such a sick bike, this guy has owned it since it was new and has NEVER crashed it, the frame looks like it's off the showroom floor...My cousin has a Gen 1 125 and swears he loves ...

I should post some pictures in the AF section. I'm going to fabricate the Y myself, so I might want to turn down the resolution on my camera.

I noticed there are a lot of Canadian members here. I don't know any of them personally.

This is my first post but but I've been reading and searching for weeks. I'm doing a Gen 3 CR125 conversion. I picked up my 04 roller a couple of days ago and my motor is supposed to get shipped on Wednesday. I live around Winnipeg Manitoba and am pretty new to dirt bikes. I just bought an 08 Husqva...
