Does anyone know if the stator cover from a Cr250 will fit the 500?? I am using a 92 motor and have stripped the cases and I want a gray stator cover to match. Anybody done this, the 250 covers just seem to be a lot cheaper.

In a word no. I brought a 250 cover for my 500, the top two holes line ...

I'm ashamed to say, due to a new job & other commitments, the bike is on the back burner at the minute so i've not ran it up yet, got to modify the fuel tank to clear the plug & cylinder head bracket. I just checked i had a spark at the plug.

sweet man. did you find the whole system on ebay from a blown up bike or what ? was the stator machining easy for a machine shop or who did it ? definatly weigh the 250 and 500 flywheels because i wanted to know this answer for a long time :cool:

After reading elsewhere of the benefits of a 2001 CR250 ignition system & it "bolts straight on" a 500 motor. I went ahead & got hold of one to fit to my Gen 1. After machining the back of the stator plate to get that to "bolt straight on" i've now found that the CDI unit wont fit where the 99 CDI ...

The motor parts are starting to go through the roof. If you do not have your spares I feel for you.

I mean like single cases are selling for 250 to 300$.

Fortunately for me my parts will last forever because I don't use them anymore. I went to the Leesburg bikefest this weekend and sat around ...
