The motor parts are starting to go through the roof. If you do not have your spares I feel for you.

I mean like single cases are selling for 250 to 300$.

Fortunately for me my parts will last forever because I don't use them anymore. I went to the Leesburg bikefest this weekend and sat around and picked my ass and drank beer! The highlight for the weekend as far as physical activity went was when I popped a bonner while sitting on a 750 HP Boss Hoss while that V8 was vibrating between my legs. :D

The weak dollar may also have something to do with it. I've brought loads from the states for my bikes. The prices you pay in dollars is what we'd pay in pounds over here, so with 2 dollars to the pound, i'm picking up bits half price! ;-)

yeah, ebay has been getting out of control, I blame newbs! when I first go on ebay, there were tricks and certain understandings, like you don't bid something up until the end and you don't pay more for used stuff on ebay than you would for it new! :x
I keep seeing these newbs with <10 feedback bidding trannys up to over $100 with 6 days remaining!! I just want the newer 4th and 5th for the '90 motor.

I actually prefer the 1988-92 tranny ratio's better. For street use the 88 - 92 is just plain superior. When you go to tall gearing the closer 4th n 5th pull much better on top at high mile an hour.

Just ask Dwayne the Stud Jones.

The parts are going to be drying up so I believe these prices are here to stay.

yeah, I want the taller 4th and 5th because it will be a desert bike. I want to maintain a large rear sprocket for the lower gears up the hairy stuff, but have the tall 4th and 5th for winding it out on the fireroads
The motor is going in a '04 crf250 chassis :D

Have you ridden the 04 CRF 250?, I have had a 04 CRF 250 and my 05 CRF 500 and thought the bikes are twitchy. A CRF 250 is not a desert chasses not to say you cannot make it work butTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!

nope, haven't ridden it. I was planning on putting a headlight on this one and keeping the motor stock. I mostly ride dunes. My gen-1 is so built now its just a lot of work to ride and next to impossible to control on the trails, so...
I think the gen-4 will work well.

It's the deadbeats, and the "Buy it Now" feature. Anything pre 89 is going up in value as well. Bad when see motors go for more than a whole bike on craigslist.
