I have ran 15-47, modified the inside radius on the front chain guide plate but it pulls the motor down pretty good in sand and you will find yourself stretching 4th to pull 5th hard with the 93+ trans.
I prefer 14-47, its still good for ~97 mph, and will rip instantly without bogging down

Personally, I think you will need as much air as you can get, at high altitude with less oxygen. Guys run retarded high compression too to compensate.

Use a air foil in the carb maybe if your not satisfied with part throttle transition.

yes ~8300 rpm stock set up lean, and 8700 on one of the motors I set up for RPM... that was a stretch too

Unless running professional studded tires, on bare clean swept ice like in an ice race, the change in power will never be felt on ice and snow.

Yes, I do like a S-12 as well. Michelins are known for being very light tires.
A better handling tire with better profile for cornering.
Not as durable nor as heavy as M5B, but a very good tire.
If you ride deep sloppy mud, the M5B gets the edge in traction IMO.

the IRC M5B 140 is really big, tall too. I think terraflex might be the only ones bigger.
I would prefer a 130 over the 140.

have you checked piston to cylinder clearance? ring gap, and was it over heated?

Looks like the rings are deflecting / chattering off the top of the exhaust port, I would check chamfer, ring gap and piston clearance.

I would make sure it had coolant, and ensure it was circulating.
