Everyones heard of it, welding light will give you sunburn...blah blah blah.
I was TIG welding, for an hour total, ran maybe 10 beads in between cleaning the metal etc. etc.
the part of my arm that recieved the most light is burned to shit, and i have a tan line from my shirt.
i didnt even notice till i hopped into the shower and about died when the hot water hit it, turned it red and started it stinging.
tried to get a pic, but the camera doesnt show the color difference.
Just thought i would share, it happened pretty damn fast!

Natural selection favors Smart people, so nature selects morons to be slow and dumb for tigers and stuff too eat. But in our modern world there just aren't enough tigers.

A while back I was building a Chevy van to haul concrete cutting equipment inside.
The floor polished diamond plate, the sides just standard finish 5052 aluminum. And the van was white.
I had to weld across the front and down the sides to keep leaking fuels and oils and water from coming into the cabin of the van.
Well to the point, I didn't realize the the reflection of the weld was coming off the sides burning the back of my neck and ears.
Well after welding about 12 feet on my hands and knees I didn't realize how screwed I was until I got home that night.
It's bad shit. Wait until you get it in the eyes.
Fun fun fun.
