The spot i'm modifying is the bottom part that is sort of like a woop & we need to make it a table top...flat instead of pointed.
the tank will sit steady on its back if you remove the breather hose and place it on some carpet so it dont move around on you.

As you can see i high lighted the areas i wanted to heat.

I first try'd using a 4x2 with the edges cut back at about 45 degrees,
i heated the tank over a good 5mins DO NOT HEAT THE HIGH SPOT TO LONG or it will melt, work around it till its soft, i knew it was pliable because when i touched it my finger print was left in it.
I found the 4x2 was way to harrow and it almost fell into the tank, you can see the depression in this photo, we cooled it with a wet face washer and a heap of water, i thought i had stuffed the tank up as it felt like it was 1mm thick but it was rock solid after the water cooled it.

I then cut a full peice of timber with about 2mm of free play, reheated the tank and pressed the new timber square to the job into the tank.
I pressed it 10mm into the point of the bump i was trying to modify and it went in very easy with a nice square edge on the outside edges.

Tight in there but there is allround clearence.
Thanks Briannah for your help. (daughter)
