I would imagine that you could sink that much into a bike if:

1. You bought all "name brand" parts.
2. You didn't shop around at all.
3. You had all of your welding, bending, converting & mods done for you.

I may have $3K into mine when its done, but I think that figure is high.

Anyone who spends $23k on a DIRTBIKE, needs their head examined.

Farmer Karl will one again whip all our ass's at HoonFEST this year, on whatever klapped out piece of shit he's riding that weekend....

Its pretty humbling....

The "lame" thing is anybody that owns a nice piece of equipment and takes care of it is labeled a webriding poser.

So I guess owning a piece of shit bike means you're a real badass...

Sometimes...... It prolly once was a nice bike, then "used, and abused"

This guys taking a $10k hit, prolly rode it 5 times.

At $2k a ride..... yea..... webrider.

The fastest ( non-sponsored) guys I have ever seen, rode klapped out pieces of shit.

Its kinda how it works....

These are the guys focused on riding and enjoying the experience, not on wrenching and making an impression. Oh, and the clapped out pieces are typically actually quite solid where it matters despite looking like hell.

Not going to say this is 100% true, but VERY stereotypical.

Last year my good toothless tweaker friend had me haul his pile of shit shroud missing, silencer hang'n, pogo stick blown shock 89' KX500 9 hours to Sand Mountain. I was pissed that it was taking up space on the trailer and looking so ugly. It was the fastest bike there period! I was proud to haul it home , then

x2 My bikes look decent but Im more worried about the mechanics being sound and upto par than having the nicest looking bike. If a dirt bike is ridden like its supposed to be its going to get scratched PERIOD.

So, assuming this bike is 100% perfect in form and function, how much is it worth?

How much is a modern factory motocrosser worth? I've heard tens of thousands of dollars.

So if this bike is perfect in form and function it's not worth $10K? Isn't it the bike everyone on this site thinks is the ultimate dirt bike? If a perfect 500AF is so awesome, shouldn't it be woth more than the "average" bike?

Look at the area by the left foot peg, and you tell me how "perfect" is it, and what this bike is worth?
