Looks good. Personally, I would ditch those covers in favor of some bright aluminum ones.
I like a clean, all silver motor. I've never been a fan of the all black motor or the ugly late 80's/mid 90's two tone look. Image

Me to. silver looks much better,
got to save to get some shinny covers unless you've got some secondhand ones for sale.

was that a nitrous bar or a powerjet bar thru the reed block?
pump signal off the transfer?
they carved that nut down a fair bit too huh.
Is it giant evil porting aswell?

I use a VHT silver brake caliper paint, looks good and its solvent resistant

The reed block holes were there for the fuel pump,
as i've said all 3 motors ive got are ex-speedway so they have drilled and taped holes were they've needed them.

What i hated most is that all the steel collets that would other wise be in the swing arm pivot hole were removed leaving large open alloy holes.
Thats why i had to make the swing arm spacers i did.
Ive also had to track down 3 kick start mechanisms @ witch ive only got 1 but i still need the small pressed steel tab that stops it unwinding.
I'm hoping the 250 1 will work.

BOB: Yes they were push started in they're speedway life.
For your interest formula 5000 is based on say 1/2 scate sprint cars running 500cc single 2-strokes or 600cc single 4 stroke, they do go well.
They had a national rule change last year where the now run 600cc 4cyl late model jap bike motors.

thats what the preassure cleaner at the servo on the way home is for. we all clean our bikes and oil them up after every ride.
it took me 3 hours to polish mine and im gonna love it for the next 5 years is how i see it. mind you, my engine was appart at the time which helps. but you only need to polish the top half and leave the under belly. i left my clutch cover painted.
do it!... cos if you dont, youll spend the rest of your life thinking about it anyway!

Problem with that Skuz is i ride enduro and theres alot of tidal creek crossings, in the morning there fresh water and every 6 hrs there salt, with crocs as an added insentive not to fall off.

Hey i got a good idea-i'll send you my cases and you can polish them for me.

yeah, i just love a nice looking 500. i figure if your gonna put your life in the hands of such a machine, you may as well have a good looking one ;)

i think polished cases look awesome, but not everyone has the time or motivation i guess. but if your taking your cr through salt water then its obsiously not worth it.

Dont get me wrong polished alloy ,crome all look the bit but polished engine parts take longer to disabate heat are high maintanace and get dirty easly, and you can NOT tell me that your lovley poished bike looks exactly the same after you've got her al dirty and washed it.
it knocks the edge of the bling after a few rides and will never look like it did when it first sat in your workshop....not like that people that build trailer queens for cars'n'bikes that never see a rainy day let alone dive or ride in it.

i think roostimus maximus work looked ok painted.just as long as the paint doesnt wash. prob the best option if your getting salt water on it often and dont want it polished.
