lighting Coil / electrical Question

Ok, trying to research the ignition / lighting coil for my AF conv. I will probably go with the 99 CR250 conversion ... But the lighting coil is only rated at 50 to 55 W, my question is for you electrical geeks, can I put a single pole lighting coil (cr500 pictured for ref only) on the OUTSIDE of the flywheel and still have it work to add some wattage to the system ??
