Thats a classic! When I was in Hungary '96-'98 it was on the hungarian MTV channel (Z+) like every afternoon! Of coarse they also had shampoo commercials that showed sudzy water flowing over boobs on regular TV!! I miss living there!!!

a turbo 944 should pull better than 130. when my mitsu starion was stock, I could bury the 150 speedo. one guy clocked 161 in a stock starion. The 944 used the mitsu rear suspension and rear diff, it was licensed from mitsu for porche.britincali wrote:Rosco-Peeko wrote: Reminds me of driving a friends 944 tapped out on the autobahn...good times.
So you were pulling a whole 130

yeah, a buddy of mine in highschool had daddy buy him a n/a auto 944 from a police auction, what a POS! he drove it for a week before the trans gave out. I offered him $100 for it (I was going to convert it to a 5 spd turbo) but he found some sucker who gave him $2000 for it.britincali wrote:No mention of a turbo, the NA 944s were junk.

my cousins father in law almost drove me to strangle him. he owned a german car shop, mostly worked on old mercedes, but some old lady brought in a clean never driven '79 911 turbo and she couldn't afford to fix it, so he bought it off her fopr next to nothing and rebuilt the motor, but...and this is what really go me... he dropped in a NA motor!!!!! I almost punched him in the face when I heard that!!!

The funny thing is a Ford Fiesta (German spec) will bury your truck. Not quite sure what you're laughing at.britincali wrote:Rosco-Peeko wrote: Reminds me of driving a friends 944 tapped out on the autobahn...good times.

The funnier thing is I grew up in europe and lots of my buddies had the fiestas your talking about (RS turbos) and they are nowhere near as fast in a straight line.

I've always wanted a GTX or roadrunner...awesome cars! I had a friend with a '68 charger and that car was awesome, even with the 383 it smoked the crap out of my '62 lincoln 430, of coarse 1000 lbs of steel will make that difference.

Here's a little more about that GTX.....

I love Roadrunner's, Super Bee's, and GTX's. It's hard to go wrong with a big bad b-body MOPAR.

Speaking of Challenger's, I was at MOPARS at the Strip in Vegas a couple years ago and they had a convertable Hemi Challenger and a convertable Hemi Cuda that were bought at Barret Jackson's for over a million a piece and the new owner's did huge burnouts and ran them hard down the track. It was cool to watch.britincali wrote:I think the challenger is one of the best looking yank cars ever.
