Weird hotstart problem

Finally took the 500 out to the mountains for its maiden shitbagging... i must have spent an hour and a half over 3 days kicking the damn thing. Starts cold not bad, 4-5 kicks give or take, so not great either. upon wipeout or stall hot, will light first kick every time like nothing if you get it in about the first 20 seconds. if it sits any longer you can kick till your blue in the face and not get anything out of it. once it cools off good, it will light again, usually after sitting with the plug out for a while. its like its flooding once it sits for a bit, but nothing comes out the overflow and they arent plugged. doesnt make any sense to me. it will do it even if you shut the gas off and run it a bit before shutdown. Any ideas?? i dont have winter gas in it, 50/50 vp110/91pump and belray h1r oil. Any help is appreciated, JR

i dont know man. mine always starts easier once the engine is hot. i dont think you have a serious problem, probly something simple.

You'r CDI or plusar pickup could be going bad My old KTM did that it drove me nuts trying to track it down once I replaced the CDI and Pulsar coil fix it.

well they say 90% of all carburation problems are ignition related. think ill go chase wires. Got a harescramble next weekend, hopefully i can get it sorted by then.

Try a new source coil from rickey stator . They are only 39.00.

When mine won't start hot, I pop the choke on. Lights right up. Ditch the choke immediately, or it will just die again.

most hardstart issues are carb related. I've had issues like you describe from lean needle/pilot jetting. check out your jetting. try turning the airscrew in some.
It shouldn't take 4-5 kicks cold.
