Oversized

Post by honda02 »

Which oversized gas tank will fit my 2005 CRF450X conversion.
What I have read from others I need to make sure the new tank has the same lowwer tank floor as stock or it will hit the motor.

I would like to use the stock shroud and a see through type tank.

Will a CRF450R tank work for me??????????????.

From what I have gathered from all the info on here and also when I built my AF, you will have to modify pretty much any tank for the conversion, but don't quote me on that.

If you have some spare $$$$ you could get someone to weld up a beer can version for you.
That way you can shape the bottom of the tank for the clearance the bike needs and get more volume as well.

you should be able to fit an ims tank . i have one on my 09 450x / 500
the base of the tank is about the same as stock. if you need to you can fill the tank with boiling hot water to soften the plastic enough to mold it around the spark plug
