Help me out guys.....

Post by britincali »

I have a clarion head unit on ebay, its about 4 yrs old and cost around $1250 new, bidding is up to $125 with 4 days to go.

I get this email, now I thought SCAM instantly but the guy has 300+ positive feedback and want to pay via paypal.......

Heres the email...

Dear plas79,

Hello, Will you sell this item to me for the sum of $ 1,000.00 USD,this also covers the postage & insurance charges for delivery abroad. Payment would be effected upon your response as i would want you to send me a PayPal Payment Request to my email address marbled_decisions@yahoo.com or probably reply with your PayPal account email address if you are interested in selling this to me. I am serious with this as i promise not let you down with the purchase of the item if you can give this offer a consideration. Your prompt response would be highly appreciated. John

Tell him you'll sell it to him when he bids it up to $1000.

I agree with ellett tell him you won't end the auction early and if he bids it up to $1000.00 and wins the auction then you will sell it to him.

tv in a car, blah! it is cool and all, I just have an oldfasion view of that sort of thing. Tv is for when it's raining outside and you have a cold. I see these kids on trips in mini vans and all sorts of other rides watching tv's and letting the world pass them by. I wouldn't trade my trips with pops looking out the window enjoying everything we saw for all the tvs in the world. Oh, but good luck with the sale, you did the right thing sticking to your guns.

Hi there,
Thanks for your response in regards to the offer for the purchase of the item.
I would appreciate if you can sell this item to me off auction as requested.....I as i don't know if you have any problem with this but i would want to assure you that you won't be diappointed doing business with me.

Could you please ascertain if your PayPal account email address is christophernewsham@msn.com so that i can remit funds
into your account.

John

That sounds pretty sketchy but you never know. If you do I would hold onto it like 97af says and make sure everything is cool before you ship it. Either way good luck with the auction.

I get crap like that all the time. you can always tell those scammers because they won't specify the item because they sent the same message to everyone. I wouldn't even message him back. look at this one a friend of mine selling a boat on craigs list got.

HELLO,
I AM BRANDY I SAW THE ADVERT ABOUT THE BOAT YOU ARE WILLING TO SALE OUT I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF THE BOAT IS STILL AVAILABLE.
I love to come and see the car in person Unfortunatelly i am not chanced,Cuz am presently out of the country for now. I am in UNITED KINDOM, i just see the car at craigslist and i love to buy it.So i deside to buy it from here, then i can come and pick it up when i am back to the state befor someone els buy the boat.I came to see my mum in UK she was involed in auto accident and that affected her brain. I will like to pick up the boat when i am back to the state, but i will love to buy it now and pay befor i get back to the state. I am an international model, open minded person, and i will be very happy if you can be honest with me on this. i will like to know the price of the boat and i will like to know the method of payment.
Best Regard Brandy

notice how they couldn't even remember if it was a car or a boat!!!

To Brit... Hey stupid, you're the seller! If that Jackass wants to deposit $1000 into your Paypal account...do it!

Once the paypal is funded, it's all yours!

sometimes things like this are just a ploy to get your info. they get the paypal acct and address, then keep e-mailing saying something about customs crap and get more info out of you. the next thing you know a bunch of crap lands on your credit report. I don't even mess with that, I've had them try a few times with me.
