Wow, I rode my first cr500 today and it was definetly a life changing experince. Besides the huge butt pucker factor of spinning the wheel in third on the road it was awesome  . Its a 1990 never been rebuilt looks mint, I put 40 down and got to go pick it up as soon as i get the rest of the money (1600). I ride a Drz400 dirt/ sm and have always drempt of having a cr500. Everyone seems awesome here, and I already have a question, Is it right for a 1990 to have a black bottom end and a bare aluminum top end. I remeber reading the newer ones had no paint, but i really am not sure what to expect. I have a feeling this bike will become my perfect drug.

awesome, for now i think i am going to weld up a axle stand because i have no money. One more question i had was for fixing cracks in the expansion chamber (PRO CIRCUIT) i searched but found how to fix dents. Could i just braze them up or will they just spread? I will take some pictures to share the JOY.

yeah, i know the chains a little loose, but i won't be riding it soon. I have no money left and need tranny oil... plus the pipes cracked. I need to fix the kick starter some how. It hits the brake lever because the aluminum part is starting to crack where it hits the steel and swings to far back.

Did these bikes come factory with a case gaurd? Where is a cheap place to get one... or can i just make one.
