Swing Arm Bushings for a '01 CR500R motor in an '02 CRF450

Post by jbird_710 »

I made up a little drawing to get some bushings machined to fill in the exposed spaces between the engine case and the swing arm when mounitng an '01 CR500 engine in a '02 CRF frame. I had some old bearing sleeves that go between the bearings and the swing arm shaft that I cut to fill in the gaps but wanted something to seal up next to the swing arm as well. I had these cut out of brass so I could custom fit them and didn't have to worry about them cutting into the aluminum if too tight. I still had to use a sanding belt and remove a little material from the side to get them to fit just right but you won't come up short if you use these dimensions. Like I said, they are designed to fit over the bearing sleeves that the swing arm passes through. If you want to make them fit to the swing arm shaft, you'll need to measue the swing arm shaft and use a smaller ID. Hope this may help.
