Rule of thumb;

When it seizes, open it up two clicks.

Ok, ah, short shifting it to soon.

sounds good, what kind of pipe are you running? sounds like she puts it down good down low, but I would try to set it up for more over rev.

Sounds really good, I would lean the main till it pings a little then fatten it up 2-3 sizes.

Anthing over a 180 main is a power robber imo.

sounds great in the last run, but it certainly wasn't WOT for very long in any gear, you have more revs in there.

short shifting in the earlier runs, not on the main long enough to tell.

nice low end bark. what is your motor/carb set-up?

6,300' , 80 degree temp, stock motor, stock pipe, stock carb, stock reeds cage, stock head. 50 pilot, 1370 needle, 170 main. with this combo it was doing tits

here what it is now: same elevation, 40 degree temp, roughly 190* exhaust porting, loomis head, fmf narly, rad valve, stock carb. 52 pilot, 1368 needle, 175 main.

i will try the old carb setting again to see. i think it might do better with 50 pilot, 1370, 170

All thats really being done is testing the main.
With the motor work I would think a 14-- needle would be needed.

What happened to speed shifting? Without it a bike length per shift could be lost

Ive tried revving the shit out of it and short shifting to keep the RPM low, as long as you have the right gearing short shifting low revs win out every time, especially with nitrous.

Motor sounds good, maybe a little fat? But it sounds to me like your kicker is slapping the pipe, or the springs are singing to their own beat against the header? Something making a "tingy" sound that isn't the motor itself.

cold weather+ high elevation=FATTTTT. you have some room in there.

A good test is run it WOT in top gear, Pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch as you close the trottle simulataneously, then pull the plug. the plug will tell the tale..

I always preferred riding the bike back to back with different jetting. What pulls the best and / or runs the cleanest gets the job. I never put much emphasis on trying to read a spark plug.

sounds great, unless you are lean to begin with and go leaner. It will run pretty damned hard lean until.... squeeeek!

Depends on where you're coming from. If I went to 26:1 without rejetting, my motor would run lean as fug.
