This is the off roader the guy I got the camper from has. He said he wanted to sell it, so I asked "how much like 15 or 16K? No he says, 21K" Holy hell but it was bad ass. He sent me these pics:
Yeah...not 21k cool though. Another friend of mine has one, and every time he goes out something breaks, and not just like a flat or something. Something big! Tranny, t-case ect. To rich for my blood!
21K is actually very little for a full blown custom rock crawler. It must be based off something cheap like a Toyota because the ones I'm familiar with cost tripple that easy. Shoot I have 12K into mine plus the initial cost of the rig, and I did all the fab work myself. As far as breaking chit all the time, I used to but after learning my rig and adjusting my driving habits I have it down to a minimum. I do carry spare axle shafts, springs, shocks, steering links and a host of other parts. My best investment for it was a www.readywelder.com which gets me going again when something bad happens. Here is a pic of me judging a W.E Rock event. The dude flipped the rig and smashed the engine to bits. But since it was a Toyota based rig, they plopped a new engine in it that they found in a junk yard down the street, and the following day they were back in the competition.

I almost bought one of those ready welders to put on my pick up just to have! Does it work good?

Yeah, he's a young guy, still thinks he's indestructable and hasn't been hurt yet. My friend that has the other one, has 5 points but still doesn't wear a helmet. I don't know why.
they have this crazy idea that they can't get hurt because they have a cage, kinda like all the guys dieing in rhinos
My buddies Clay and Miles had a shop in SJC where they built long travel trucks, they were right next door to a shop called CTM who makes some bitches U-Joints. The guy from CTM used to send crawlers to my buddies shop all the time for welding and tube bending type of work. They let me drive one once, it was btichen, I got 3 wheels on the wall on the side of the building, I thought for sure I was gonna roll it!
they didn't let we take one for a spin again
