Hinson Clutch Problem!
I had a weird knocking when i would turn my bike off and couldn't figure it out. Split the cases and i found rubber everywhere in the tranny, kick starter spring it was all over the place. Still couldn't find the problem so Chris called his buddy at the Honda shop which he told me the day before it was my piston hitting the head, but the top end was just put on the night before and was Fresh and Perfect . So anyways it was the rubbers between the Hinson clutch basket and the gear on the back of it.There was only half of each one left, the gear was moving around and slamming into the ears on the back of the basket .I bought the clutch basket already put together so i didn't know there was rubber in there..Alot of time but a easy fix $25 from Hinson for new rubbers and I'm back in the Races

Re: Hinson Clutch Problem!
Thats funny I wonder why my Hinson basket came without a carrier gear I had to grind it off my stock basket & use the screws supplied with the basketBIGWORM500 wrote:I had a weird knocking when i would turn my bike off and couldn't figure it out. Yeah u have to use stock cushions and gear on Hinson. Retarded the Hinson basket cost $300 without the main parts for it to actually work.. What a rip off...100hp honda wrote:that sucks man. stock basket uses those rubbers also but ive never seen them come apart. there purpose is sort of a cushion for the twisting force on the clutch assembly

in 5 years you wont be saying that. hinson is good strong unit. i bought one and think its money very well spent. of course everyone will have a different opinion, but some things are facts......stock cast basket wont take the abuse the same as hinson billet basketBIGWORM500 wrote: What a rip off...

Just saying you would think it would come ready to bolt on for the price...
Doesn't bother me to change it over but some people don't have the skills or are just scarred to do it and would have to pay someboby else to do it...I got the skills to pay the Bills

I'll second that,in a season and a half on mine the only wear was the fading of the letters in the Hinson stamped on the Basket100hp honda wrote:in 5 years you wont be saying that. hinson is good strong unit. i bought one and think its money very well spent. of course everyone will have a different opinion, but some things are facts......stock cast basket wont take the abuse the same as hinson billet basketBIGWORM500 wrote: What a rip off...
