Can't get the Turbo to fit.....on my 02 AF

Post by pimp559 »

I got a new turbo paddle that won't fit with out rubbing on the airbox mud flap. If I pull the wheel back the chain is too short and not long enough to run an extra link and two masters. I took the mudd flap off to run at Pismo the weekend after next but don't like the idea of a sand bath on the back off my motor. Anybody had this problem, what did you do?

they all have this problem, get a shock sock and leave the flap off when the paddle is on.

Same here. Glad I took the air box flap off because on the move the paddle grew big enough to kiss the swing arm. Couldn't get a Shock Sock, but having seen these on two other bikes, it's on the shopping list. I ran my chain a little loose for the reason you found. Next time, I might try a 15T counter shaft sprocket just to take up a little slack. You could do the same at the rear, but it'll cost you for a rear sprocket.

I've used just a plain sock over the shock and that worked out fine...

I let as much air out as possible and that helped a little but still had to ditch the flap. I even custom shaved a little off the cups for some of the longer paddles. I also noticed the chain had been slapping the dirt tire a little and I know the tension was correct. I'm wondering if I need to flip the counter sprocket over for tracking purposes?

why are you putting a 8 blade paddle on a 500... you just want to sit there and spin the tire all day?? get something with some bite 10cup minimum on a 500 :D

my sicky gnar gnars gen-1 runs a beat to hell 8-puck and hooks just fine!
infact, it sinks, then grabs, so it really grabs a little too well, I might go up to a 12-puck to get more float out of it and thus a little more controlable wheel spin.
