Not a 500 ? but still very important

Post by sabreguy »

How long should it take a brand new 12v waterpump to start actually pushing water to the faucets in a motorhome? I can hear it running and it is pushing air but it just spits a little water. I was thinking it was because I had the front of the MH higher than the rear but I put it on more level ground but still no water after about a minute or two. Water tank is about half to 2/3 full. I need some advice fellas. If I don't get this thing pumping water the wifey won't go to Pismo and Me and the boy will have to tent it!
Her B-Day is just before we leave so this was supposed to be her B-day present.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming its not leaking out somewhere before it reaches your tap, I would guess the pump is bad. Can you get to the pump and see if it is pushing any pressure out of it? Another possibility is the inlet could be plugged, maybe blow some air from the pump back into the tank.

Check for an air leak on the inlet side of the pump...
