Storms and flooding (bad for dial-up lots of pics)

Post by Uzi »

Anybody else having crazy weather this year? Here in eastern Nebraska we've had tornado's left and right and more rain than I can ever remember. Definitely too much. I caught a few pictures around here and a few back around my home town.

Hope they planted the crops early cuz they would be lovin the extra moisture :P I know out here the farmers would absolutely love it.. Free irrigation for that sudan grass that just loves to suck up the water :D I dont miss the humidity one bit though.

Here's more taken from the top of the shop where I work.
These where taken about 7:30 pm usually nice and sunny about 2 hours from sun-set. I don't think I've ever seen it get so dark. The cell in these pics spawned multiple ef-1 and ef-2 tornados directly north of the pictures I took.

The lighting was close enough while standing on the top of the building to make all your hair stand up

Unfortunately the guys that planted early this year got most of their stuff drown out completely
This is a picture of a irrigation dam that washed out a few miles south of my house. There used to be dirt on the right side of the concrete in that picture. The guy lost an irrigation motor and pump and about 40 acres of soy beans.

You can see the power lines about to fall in in this picture.

Now that is some crazy amount of water! We are hoping to get some rain soon here, the monsoon season is dry so far. Those lightning pics are bitchen and I like the last pic. It shows that you have the perfect car for those conditions. :D
