OK Hoons.....
My street legalization of the Gen 1 is almost compete...EXCEPT...all the documents I'm reading are saying I need a Certificate of Origin. Well, I don't have one, nor do I know how to get one.
In Hawaii dirtbikes don't come with a "title" per sey...so I hear. When I went to register my daughters 50 quad from Calif to Hawaii...they said...they don't title dirt bikes in Hawaii.....also, when I bought her a new LT-Z 90 quad...I didn't get a title or a MSO or anything really other than a receipt.
So I'm going to Kona Honda today to see what they know.
Let me know if any of you have any insight to make this happen as smoothly as possible!
This baby needs to be STREET LEGAL!!
Mahalo,

gotta have the mso. its a title foe a offroad vehicle. you hae to ask for it when you purchase the bike new from the dealer. the mso to recon and get a safety check. only recon can do the first one. anyway he will give a piece of paper. take that and the mso to dmv and they will give you a title ad plates. now how to get a mso now is beyond me. bribe the dealer. mso is a cert or origin.

The State/DMV have the MSO. That is what the dealer sends back at time of original purchase. In turn the State/DMV send back "Color of Title" aka pink slip.
So ya technicly the State/ DMV still own it.
But anyway the DMV should have record of it, just give them the frame/engine numbers. Now if its out of state and or the reg has fallen off there computer good luck In Cali it falls off after five years of non reg. Then if the DMV can not verify the numbers off to the CHP we go.
