Swapping stators?

It looks like the stator plate /w stator from my 94 CR250 will bolt right in to the 500, is there any danger in doing this besides miss matching the wires? At this point I'm willing to try anything to see if it will make the bike run better.

The stator in the 500 right now measures out a 2ohm resistance, not sure if thats within spec.
