We had a blast there last weekend 4 days riding the dunes. Friday there was not many there as well as Monday we had the place to our selves. Bike report well I tried to save the 12 paddle I road flat @ glamis by installing a boot & new tube. Well I got another flat within the 1st hour or so of riding so that bike was down af500. Next bike down cr250
Went cheep on the last re-build with just a set of rings….. It did not last long blew that one on Friday as well. Saturday Troy seized his 500 but made it back to camp he is currently taking it apart. Chanced burnt out a clutch on the 500 he rides. Sunday we got the hill climbers fired up to find out which one was the fastest and we still don’t know
MFDB was beating Chance on every bike he road so just switching rides did not help.
Good job Justin and thanks for the help.
We blew a plug out of the head of the Loomis bike before it was over so now that bike was down as well, I also had a switch go bad in another No2 bike so they never ran on the spray. Monday the wr250 burnt out the clutch & broke the rear brake master cylinder so we where down a few bikes but still got in an awesome ride with my boys.

I re-built the cr250 last night with a new piston kit & gaskets
Ill install the new clutch oil filter & I hope master cylinder on the wr250 tonight
Thursday night Ill put in a new clutch in chances 500
Not sure what to do about the head that has no threads in it do they make a heli coil that would work?

It was great to meet new people there and the chicks they brought could ride also we had a great time. See ya at the next ride Next month maybe the weekend before Christmas

The Barnett "Carbon" style is real tough, has a nice feel to it, and the price / value ratio is great! Mine is a few years old, and I burn that sucka'.... HARD!

Yeah, a good time was had by all. I too won't be making that weekend, after x-mas, my boys b-day is the 29th and the due date for the next one is Jan 2nd. Not only will I not be able to go anywhere, I probably won't have any money either. Oh well, the price we pay for bringing new hoons into the world
I've used helicoils on plug threads, but the timesert will probably be stronger and is probably a better idea. either way, get the kit with a spare coil or 2, so you'll have it incase something similar happens again.
I've heard people say really good things about the Barnet fiber and kevlar clutches on the 500s, but have also heard a ton of complaints about them in street applications. I'm running an EBC and no matter how hard I beat it, it keeps grabbing.

Ill be ordering the plug kit tonight,
I have clutch kits at the house for the 500 but thats a great price on that one bob thanks for the links
the wr kit I picked up yesterday at Chaprral I had to order the master cyl.
Troy got his bike apart and its missing lagre amounts of the bottom skirt.
he is going to pull the motor and we will try to see if we can wash them out if there is no bearing damage otherwise its time to split the cases?
your thoughts Bob?

If the piston fractured on the intake side, chalk it up to another victim of excessive piston to cylinder wall clearance..

Thats the craziest shit I ever saw..... Who did you buy that bike from? Brit?

Troy better be ready for a HUGE power increase when you get her buttoned back up.

Fill the cases with diesel, swish the crank around some and dump. Catch the dirty diesel in something to let the junk settle out. Repeat until it dumps out clean. Drip a little oil down the feed holes...If everything looks / feels good... RUN IT!

Is the CR500 engine the bassest on the planet, or what? Even having the piston in backwards provides awesome power?

The max allowable measurement for the rod thrust washers is 0.040"

I'll repeat this one more time....

PULL THE REED BLOCK AND PIPE FOR A QUICK LOOK ON ANY CR500 YOU BUY!!!

Cheap insurance against stuff like this...
