1996 CR250 Ignition

Post by Rue »

Just picked up a 1996 CR250 ignition from 500riders.com for my buddies bike. It didn't come with the fly wheel, can anyone tell me if a 98 CR250 fly wheel will work with the 96 stator?

Not sure about flywheel working or not. The 96 is analog and the 98 is digital. Most likely will not work.

Ok thanks for the heads up. The 98' flywheel is already on it's way so I'll post my findings once it gets here.

Anyone have a flywheel that will work on a 96 ignition shoot me a PM

i think it will work, they look identical
just line up tdc and the pulsar the same as the 500 stuff
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

I have a 94 F/W and a 97, the I.D. is different between them. The 94' should match your 96 and the 97 should match your 98.
