I recently hooked up with the owner of Patriot Exhaust, and he was excited about supplying us pipes for
CR500 Steelies
CR500 A/F conversions with the rear tab included, but unwelded
CR500 "125" based conversions.
Price is in the $275 range, for a custom , hand made pipe.
Anyone interested?
Here is some of his Two Stroke work

Mention to the owner that this is reference to the conversation he had with me on sunday, at the Industry Speedway BBQ.

Stopped by there today. Met Don, seems like a good guy. He said I would need to bring my bike over so he could check to see how much work it will be to make a pipe. Next week, he is avaliable to take a look. Did not mention any price till he sees the bike. Will keep everyone posted. If it works out, I can pick up for those not so close and ship.

this would be a good chance to clone the FMF fatty
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

I may have an extra to loan for the cloning process if this pans out....
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

Word is that he has a pipe he's designed.
I have no problem buying one and posting my opinion if dudes want to hold out. Or I can supply dimensions to compare to a pipe of someone beats me to physically owning one

I dropped my 125/500 off at Patriot today. Don spent a good amount of time looking things over. He said he had some ideas to make a pipe that clears the 125 frame. After he gets a ways in, I told him I will bring the CRF chassis bike and CR250R chassis over to test fit them all. I will post progress as it goes.

I have been by the shop. He has been working on a 4st exhaust for some magazine reviews. He will be on it shortly. He already has the cones ready for fitment. Looks good to me so far.

He has a pipe design that is originally for a steel framed 500. I can check to see if he offers them for sale. I do not see why he would not.

Whats the story on the pipes. I could use one for the Gen 3 conversion.
