Clutch differences through the years

I'm helping my brother rebuild a basket case 88 CR500 and I need a bit of help. I know its a broad question, but anyone care to tell me the differences in clutches through the years? I'll be looking for a used inner hub and just need to know what years will work and what won't. Thanks!
94 ATK 605DSES (XR killer!)
84 CR500R (EG 520cc, PA suspension with 87 cartridge forks, scotts damper, and FINS!)
