been on the site for quite a while and have found it both interesting and fun reading
i own my own small bike shop trying to build up my buiness slowly because of my shitty health conditions slowly is the only way for me
im a diesel mechanic by trade and always working on motorcycles before i was 10 from harleys to postie bikes there alot easier than trucks and earthmoving equipment
my long term dream would be to open multiple bike shops and stick it into the ripooff shops that seem to exist in aus
any way i say hello to all ive read a lot off your posts and you all seem cool both giving shit and taking it that some of the ingreediants off good people when its their turn to take shit without going off the rails over it
yes ive started my own ausy 07 450 conversion with a complete dona cr500 late model one i will start posting pictures and hope a few jokes and teck talks thankyou for the opportunity to join i hope i put a smile on what is already a happy bunch off 500 freaks thanks matthew

parts

Post by matt in aus »

yes mainly all my stuff comes from the internet or the states i still have a couple of good accounts here from suppliers such as cp, prox, serco and a few others, obtaining these parts from the wholesalers in australia is how i know how didicated the bike shops are to rip you clean, i see both prices but it gets worst cause the wholesaler sees how much the bike shops sell their shit for so inturn they put the prices up the industry needs a major shake up [or a good kick in the ass] here in aus, here in aus if you have a shop your god if you dont your a wanker with money, all this said there are a small few around that will try for the customer but not many and they wont go right out of there way
enough of that i love you yanks too, your a funny pack of buggers with a healthy serious side we all need that to go ahead and learn
im from mildura, victoria, australia yes im a bushy you aussies know what i mean, i do a lot a work on bikes at a place called tibooburra which is in the middle of no where so i have to be good at obtaining parts for the right price, the af 450 i have now comes from there, a town off 300 people that all have the latest bikes i think there growing some heavy duty tomatoes up there
thats a little about me i look forward to saying howdy to all of you a some time and learning then passing on my experience, i want to do a kx500 in the kx 450 frame down the track for the long enduros we have here, doing lots of work hotting up 4 strokes lately i pulled the cr 500 complete down in no time i have forgot how easy they are, they bet the 4 stroke hands down for maintainance work its almost half the parts of a 450 i love em
thanks matthew
