OK, THIS past weekend i put all the parts together. Sunday afternoon right before easter dinner i fired her up, went for a ride around the yard and ripped up some grass and dirt. This thing pulls the front wheel easier than my old crf 450 and sticks on the grass in turns great
( throttle control). heres some pics
heres some pics of the cdi mounted to the side of the frame with the rectifier and cap mounted on the inside of the works connection radiator guard. this is a temp position as the cdi is to big to fit behind the # plate, i plan to get a 2000-2001 iginition system so it will be a clean mount.

heres some pics of my headstay made from the stock crf250 stays, they bolt up without any side tension on the stays and the offset is perfect.

Here a quick review of parts i used to build my conversion:
2005 crf 250 frame, swingarm and subframe
1995 engine cases and clutch case
2001 cylinder
90 mm wiseco piston with new rings coated by swaintech
1992 close ratio transmission
39.5 mm PWK Airstriker carb
2000 cr 250 cdi, flywheel and stator
1998 cr 250 airboot and backing plate
1998 cr 250 rear brake pedal
modded right radiator to keep the stock cr500 cooling system
14/50 sprockets for now, seems to pull quick enough for me at this ratio
FMF Fatty with a new pro circuit 304 silencer, i have the new works pipe i just haven't got it to the shop to mod the rear mount yet
All new bearings, gaskets, seals and hardware. crankshaft was also rebuilt with a ims rod kit.
Everything else is stock for either the crf 250 chassie or the stock cr500 running gear.
This bike is diffenitly going to be fun and challenging to get around a mx track, after the first start up and cool down it did fire up with a couple kicks, this 500 is new to me and my first one so until i get some seat time and read the plug for jetting it seems to run pretty dam good as is. Also i don't have a
headstay yet and won't be riding the bike anymore until i get one, waiting for the machinist, until then im going to the shop tomorrow to fab up the crf headstays to use until i get the one peice stay.
side note: without a headstay i didn't notice any bad vibes except at idle, quess i got one of the cranks thats smooth.
Thanks to everyone who has posted build info on the 2 sites to make it possible for other people to imagine their dream and build it.
