He needs an electric pump to provide consistant fuel pressure to the fuel solenoid. No diaphram pulse pump is going to work in any way, shape, or form. These pumps provide fuel volume, not pressure.
He needs to get his act together, quick.
Good thing he has Slomo to hold his hand.
He should have spent more time researching, and less time polishing.
some guys are getting confused, the carb has 2 fuel inlets so there has to be 2 lines going into it, plus i need another fuel line going to the NOS. seems theres several ways to go about it.
this is a big ass 3 cylinder, probly 400cc per hole im guessing, might even be alittle bigger, i dont know. hes pushing the alcohol to the carbs with the exact same mikuni pump i have, hes only running one line into the carb but ill be using 2, shouldnt be any problems for me. then ill do what slomas did and run a seperate electric pump out of the airbox.

theres going to be alot of bugs to iron out before its all said and done. i thank slomas for the pointers and ill probly need more help from him. dennis has been a great help telling me where to set the timing and how to adjust the carb. i have a couple more people helping also. the main goal is to not have anything blow up but i got another piston here just incase. one step at a time
i may even call on brit for help because hes been down this road before.

sort of. the only thing thats the same is the bottom end, everything else is different. i been working on the ktm also so i been splitting time with that bike aswell. this shit takes alot of fawkin money when you get into alky and nitrous and having custom parts made. plus i dont make as much cash as some of you guys.
carbs are $515
vforce3 was $140
manifold was $230
bought new cylinder for $290 i believe
cylinder/head work was $350
cool head itself was $250 i think
fuel pump $55
spent $1750 on the gen3, got 1k back from the motor but still into the roller $750
new plastics were around $200
all the NOS components are $$$$$$$$
shit adds up real fast and i still need more parts. fuel lines, pingle valve etc etc etc
forgot to mention i had neck surgery 4 months ago. cost 7K but luckily my work insurance payed most of it, only 1K came from my pocket. also bought a house, moving in 10 days. half the problems was trying to work in a 10x20 storage shed.
this was my first storage unit . needless to say it was difficult to get much done without unloading the whole damn thing everyday. theres a 5th bike buried in there somewhere in 1000000 pieces.
I'm not confused, so you have one of packard's large lectrons that have 1.5 float bowls with two needle and seats, you need to fuel lines coming off your fuel pump (get a mukuni multifeed diaphram pump) to feed your carb and you need one line for the nitrous. Seems simple to me.
Wow, this is going to be a beast. What ignition system you going to run? I don't think stock CR500 will work well with all that fuel.
This is a typical BZ Speedway carb. ( 500cc, alcohol, 10k rpm, 80 hp motor)
Dual fuel inlets are clearly visable. They are gravity fed from a dual outlet fuel tank. There is no pump. Fuel flow is never an issue. These motors run WFO for the entire race.
bob i have no clear answer, other than the pump was recomended as good insurance. i dont know anything about speedway racing, but if you go to the dunes and look at all the alky bikes i think youll see that most if not all have pumps, there must be a good reason behind it, by trial and error im quit certain a few guys have burned pistons learning the hardway. with the bigger bowl its totally possible i may not need a pump. the only real way to find out is run it and see if the piston seizes or not, theres no other way to know for sure. that speedway carb may be smaller, passing less air, requiring less fuel, hence gravity feed would be sufficient. lewisclan also had a pump on his bike if i recall correct, im sure it was recomended to him also as good insurance. if you send me a couple pistons ill gladly run it on gravity feed and see what happens

yes I have a vac pump for the alcohol and a electric pump for the race gas and sylinoid for the gas & nitrous.
I have a vacume leak and have not fiddled with it for a few years
