slippery kicker fix?

Post by 484 »

I am not afraid of mud. I will take my bike in the nastiest crap on a dare. The problem is, once my boot gets good and muddy it becomes a real pain to kick. Boot slides right off. I have heard of putting hose clamps on the kicker and positioning the screw assy on it to give some substance to it. Anyone got any other ideas? I thought about taking a file to it and really roughing it up.
thanks

I would try roughing it up with a grinder, I sharpen my pegs with a grinder and I can definatly feel a difference in bite.

It probably has a lot to do with the boots too. Mine seem to not have enough heel on them or something. I see where you can have this problem. I really don't have a solution though. Maybe some of that skateboard stuff that they stick on the top of them or the stuff for slippery steps. You know what I am talking about right? lol Like sticky sand paper and wrap it around the end of the kicker...

yeah I think my thor boots get pretty slick in the mud. Just by watching my friends walk around in the same mud that I bust my ass on. And they do have a shallow heel.
the sandpaper tape sounds like a good plan.

Your being generous.....

Take the thing off... take it to a welder, and have him to this....

Its going to tear the shit out of your boots, but then you'll have something new to complain about.

Regardless if it stays on, the pores of the grip tape will fill with mud instantly, rendering it useless.

Ever see grip tape on foot pegs?
