Got the cases split this weekend. barely any sand in there just a couple grains stuck in the oil. the left side bearing was fine, but the right side was FUBAR the balls themselves had huge peices chipping off, one of those peices stuck between the crank and case.
that little peice stock on the bottom of the bearing it a peice of one of the balls. the top ball you can see a little. The balls all look more like steel raisins than ball bearings!!! What crap!!!

believe it or not, i use LUCAS Oil Stabilizer. shit has the same consistency as air filter oil, and can be had anywhere. It forms strings when you put it on your fingers and spread em apart. and the only way to get it off is to use solvent.dannygraves wrote:What oil is everybody using? I was using the spray Uni stuff, spraying inside and out.britincali wrote:dannygraves wrote:what does everyone think about the K&N with the sheat cover thing?
Does anyone use that sheat cover thing on a foam filter?
K+Ns are pretty crap at filtering fine stuff untill they are half blocked then they filter great, I would just use a new foam (insert favorite brand) with plenty of greese on the mating surface (more than you had) and a decent sticky filter oil applied librally.
