Hey guys thought I'd join the site since I just picked up my first CR500 today, and also my first two stroke! I got a great deal on her and it's a 1987. I'm not exactly sure why it won't run yet but I think it just needs some carb work. I can't wait to ride the beast and see what they are all about. Here are some pictures... what do you guys think? I got it for $600.00!!!
Thanks,
Bryan

I have not gotten the starting method down... I know how to do it but this bike is really hard to kick! Would it be bad to try to bum[ start it the first time because it hasn't been started in a few months and it's right after a rebuild/ported and polished. Also are there any PDF format manuals out there for the 87' model?hoofarted wrote:welcome! clean bike...being your 1st 500, have you got the starting method down yet? Thats key to success..
Thanks!
Welcome!
Good practice too.
Kicking probably still easier. Bump starting cold can be a beyotch.RedtillIdie wrote:Would it be bad to try to bum[ start it the first time because it hasn't been started in a few months and it's right after a rebuild/ported and polished.
