have 87 want newer forks
What year of tree and forks, and what bearings and what else to convert to like a new 450 or 250? Should i stay with a 500 set up. My forks are toast making a loud popping noise and oil pours right through. I think i would be money ahead to update than to sink $200 or more rebuilding my old junk.

I tried to put a set of 91' cr 125 forks on my 85' 500. the lower bearing on the 91' is larger than the 85's causing the fork set to sit about 1/4 low in the head tube. I'm going to machine a new steer tube for 85' bearing and press it into the 91' clamps. Also does anyone have a 94' 125 lower clamp laying around ?
