$350.00 inc of GST
$10.00 or less i recon for Australia post to send any were in AU
$60.00 for swing arm spacers.

I require a minimum of 5 sets to do a run of these.
As the Gen-1's are getting older complete bikes are very cheap to aquire.

almost all bikes bob. I had a set whiddled up from a machinist buddy of mine following shanmans plans and my frame is a straight legged frame with no twist in the cradle tubes so no need for the 7* offset on the cradle mounting surface.

I posted this a few weeks ago on 500riders - forgot to post it here.

You can get 1" x 1" x .125" 6061T6 tubing from:

Performance Metals

South Windsor NSW, 2756,

Phone: 024577 7769

Web address: www.performancemetalsaustralia.com.au

The fellow I spoke to was : Stuart Shackley. They sell by the metre.

They have this in stock pretty much All the time - a very slight radius on the corners and the price per metre is $19.50 (+- a few cents, can't recall exactly) + tax. 1 metre will do the entire cradle of a gen 3 conversion ( I don't lift the Y) - though it would be wise to get more than this for bending purposes / practice , if you've not done one previously.

It's cheap, and easily available guys - you can do a clean conversion with no multiple joints for bugger all. I've just done 2 frames for a couple of mates of mine, 1 being a gen3, the other a gen 4, using just 2 over metres of tubing = less than $46.00 retail in cradle tubing. Sometimes you can get aluminium cheap - this is one size / type that comes under that heading.

With the Gen3, I hoicked it out of the workshop with all the ancillaries to be done by the owner - he's a big boy and should at least do part of his own bike  . With the Gen4 (CRF450x08), the owner is a tech geek ( a handy bloke to have around at times, but next to useless with anything mechanical ) so I'm doing all of his conversion over a few months between other things. With that one I'm doing something very different with the tank & airbox . It should be interesting. I'll post it up if he gives me the go ahead - it's up to him and he might want to have something unique - I owe him a hell of a lot in many ways, so I'll only show it if he OKs it.

It's certainly not the radius as std is, but not sharp edged ( in my terms) - I should have put Very Slight radius in

I've received lengths of material ( for my bicycle frame business & MC frames I do) with different radius' at times, in the same OS shipment :x . But I have had no problems with either type of radius in terms of bending cracks etc, so it hasn't been an issue, despite my initial worries many years ago. The only problem I've ever had is when I made pairs of frame rails, when doing a batch of frames and got rails with more radius mixed with lesser ones. Not fun messing up like that

Shannon: I answered your PM last night at about 3am - it seemed to disappear into the ether, not sure if you got it. Thanks for your offer of advice - both the frames done, as I've done a few of each type previously. Next time I'm in Wyong area I'll drop into Woody's to see if any of your bikes are there. It's good to look at others approaches, you Always pick up on a better approach / idea. I might be able to bring in the tank / airbox set I'll be doing for the 450x gen 4 for you to check out. Should be a great way to get rid of the top heavy feel of an AF.

Both the bikes should be there with the rest of our bikes
the 500af feels lighter then my 08 crf250x in the top end.
but then again i run a desert tank on my bikes
