Calling all Aussies,
were can you get quality port work done.
I dosent matter were it is in Au in the Territory were use to frieghting out our bits and pieces.

i heard desert edge motorcycles is the place to go
for 500 know how and there in alice , worth a call
at least they could at least point in the right direction!!

jws696 has nailed that one - I think they were the shop that set up the 500s that won quite a few Finke races.

Another you might try is MMT in Parramatta (?) in NSW, They are Sydney's go to shop for much of the trade (eg, getting MMT to do engine work & claiming it as their own), and I think they have been involved in porting 500s for various applications. I've never had one done by them ( never had the need, I just do a basic clean up for my own needs), but other work they've done for me over the past 20 years has always been very well done.

Ok i got some great help today from Woody (stop laughing you yanks)

Race Motorcycles in Alice Springs (Dead centere of Australia to those not formillia with AU)

He dose all his porting in house unlike Desert Edge who send it elswere to get there port work done.(they wouldnt tell me were they get it done)
Woodys team have been doink Finke Desert Race bikes for years.

I knew i was on a wicket because when i asked him for some port work he first wanted to know what my riding was going to be and my riding style, we had quite a good chat on the pros and cons of different porting types.

needless to say my barrell (jug) will be on it's way down to him,
